Plant Initiatives Lead

Job Description

As a member of either the Manufacturing, Planning, Logistics, NPD, Engineering or any relevant team, the Plant Initiatives Lead is responsible for delivering new product (including installation of related equipment) and/or packaging change within the Kostinbrod Coffee / Tea Manufacturing Facility for the Plant’s local and international customer base.

Working with R&D, Marketing and Sales Units (MSU’s), Supply Chain, he/she will ensure that new product/pack/material changes for the plant’s customers are delivered to agreed time, cost and quality targets.

Responsibilities / Key activities:

  • Leads Risk Assessment for Manufacturing workstream for projects.
  • Make sure each project will have a Plant project brief communicating the details of the change.
  • Setup and monitor Plant project planning in cooperation with MSU’s, R&D, Category Development Teams, external parties / suppliers and production, in such a way that new products will be delivered on time, within budget and meeting the required quality and efficiency specifications.
  • Working with D2P and R&D, make sure new packaging artwork meets plant technical requirements and delivered materials are suitable for Plant production.
  • Make sure the trial results will be available on time and communicated to the people involved. In alignment with R&D.
  • Invites and leads ProStart meetings and approvals (pre-production, first production, postproduction)
  • Make arrangements for first production run and make sure all materials and resources are available.
  • Lead the material phase in/phase out of obsolete materials balanced with material change safety strategy in conjunction with supply chain to deliver minimal write off costs.
  • Identify proposals for rationalization / reduction of SKU’s, blends and packaging materials to reduce Plant complexity.
  • Ensure master data / systems are setup correctly and on time, and redundant data maintained.
  • Act as consultant for projects and first contact for Marketing & Sales, in such a way they will be informed in the best possible way about the possibilities and portfolio of the Plant.
  • Develop expertise on plant capability, capacity, potential and constraints and become recognized as a key technical contact for Production areas.
  • Ensures Safety meet the requirements and established standards of the “Manufacturing operating system” (MOS).

Qualifications

  • High level of education, preferably in Supply Chain
  • At least 3 years’ experience in Production Planning, Material Planning or a related Supply Chain role
  • Strong project management experience with ability to manage multiple projects through good decision making, effective prioritization of tasks and excellent time management.
  • Affinity with automated systems and admin processes; SAP and APO experience is preferred
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Good communication and collaboration skills with all levels of the organization, as well as with external stakeholders
  • Can handle stress and sets priorities well during challenging circumstances
  • Fluent in English
  • FMCG experience as an added bonus
